Rack-it Truck Rack Saves The Truck From Falling Tree
Here's a great story and testimonial we just received:
"I live near Twain Harte, California and just thought I would send you a couple of pictures from last winter. A giant oak tree limb fell from the weight of snow in the first storm of the season, hit two other trees, breaking more limbs off. The photos show where one of the limbs hit the front/top of my 1996 Ford F250. I have a rackit rack installed and it saved my truck from major damage. The rack over the cab was bent down enough that the passenger side door would not open, when I chain sawed the trees away, I found that the only damage was a 4 inch diameter dent in the corner of the cab and cracked joints on the rack, the rack sprang back up(not quite all the way, still usable though).
I wanted you to know that I am very pleased with the rack on my truck, I use it alot and I will be replacing it with a new one soon."
Roy Sauls
Twain Harte, CA
What's interesting about this is that this tree fell on the weakest portion of the rack, the front of the over-cab extension, yet it was strong enough to do the job. If the tree had fallen on the center portion of the rack, there likely would have been no damage to the rack at all.

Custom Service Body Racks by Rack-it
Here's an example of a custom service body rack that we built at Rack-it for West Coast Truck Equipment, one of our distributors in West Sacramento, CA. A number of body companies are finding it more efficient and cost effective to have Rack-it build racks for them rather than do them in house. We are pleased to have West Coast Truck Equipment as a customer and look forward to a long mutually beneficial relationship.

It's A Sea Of BLUE!
Yes, it's a sea of blue forklift loadable Rack-it truck racks. This was a large project of trucks built for P.G.&E. (Pacific Gas & Electric) on Knapheide Service Bodies. Some of these racks are different because the bodies have different features, such as, in the last two photos, this unit has what Knapheide calls the TSR, or Telescopic Sliding Roof. Many call that a cargo bed enclosure since in closes off and secures the cargo bed area. The bottom two are also dual rear wheel units, but most of the job was single rear wheel trucks.
This was quite a job and we were very pleased to work directly with Knapheide Manufacturing to get it accomplished. We are also grateful to P.G.&E. for the business opportunity. We love blue!

Rack-Strap Option Is One Of The Most Helpful
The Rack-Strap option is one of the best values and most helpful options we sell. Whatever you put up on your rack can be secured with the Rack-Strap. They are sold in pairs, so you can put them on one side or the other, or better yet, order two sets and put two on each side and then you can cinch down separate loads on each side of the rack!
Here's some of the features of the Rack-Strap Tie Down:
Here's some of the features of the Rack-Strap Tie Down:

- Polyester strap is UV protected and water resistant. Great in all climates conditions.

Some Rack-it Headquarters Shop Photos
Part of Rack-it Headquarters
Here's a few shots taken during a break in our shop earlier this year. It starts with plain pipe being delivered by truck and works its way through bending, cutting, welding, pre-paint prep, paint or powder coating. We also have a bead blasting section for refurbishing racks, along with other projects we do.

Strong Enough, Tough Enough, and Great Looking Too!
Because of the all welded design utilizing schedule 40 HD steel pipe, Rack-it Truck Racks are not only strong enough for service and utility bodies, but strong enough for the capacities of the Ford F450/550 and like trucks, just like the one in this photo.

The Aluminum Rack-it Rack
Here is a great shot of our aluminum Rack-it rack. It is so lightweight that it adds an insignificant amount of weight to the truck (around 75 lbs approximately). The aluminum rack comes powder coated in silver color to set it apart from the standard black steel racks. But, don't let the lightweight fool you, this is one tough, heavy duty rack that can take what you dish out for years on end and still look great.
