Off-road and track testing the 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. This is a pickup from Toyota, featuring a 5.7L V8 engine producing 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque, which I’ll be comparing to the Ford F150, the GMC Canyon, and the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. Starting with the drawbacks, the Tundra is easily the least fuel efficient. With a combined rating of 15 mpg, it’s 5 mpg less than the next lowest competitor, and it’s highway rating is 10 mpg worse than the Ram. It’s by far the heaviest of the group, at just over 5600 lbs, and was more expensive than the Ford or GMC. That said, it offered the highest ground clearance at 10.6 inches, the second best towing capacity at 9800 lbs, and was the most powerful truck in the group. It’s also the most orange truck tested.
