November 2011 "Rack-t-eer" of the Month

Jorge Garcia - Thank you for 15 years of service

When we first started building racks back in 1986 we had a handful of models we produced. Today there are hundreds of make / model specific part numbers available to our customers and Jorge Garcia is charge of figuring out how all those different shape and sized racks get stacked on our delivery trucks efficiently and safely.

Jorge came to us 15 years ago and has been a tremendous asset to our team. He started his journey at Rack-it working out in the yard helping to get loads tied down. He also helped out in the prep department, cleaning racks before they went to paint. Wanting to learn more, he soon began to practice stacking racks in our "boneyard" to get a sense of how different models nested with one another. Jorge proved to be a quick study and for years now (along with his right hand man, Calvin) he's been our go to guy in the Transportation department.

Jorge remembers the crazy times a few years back when he and his team were building 5-6 loads a day nearly 5 days a week. "That was really fun, we knew what we had to do and we jumped on it and made it happen, "he said. Even though the pace isn't currently quite that busy, Jorge still plays a vital role in managing our yard inventory and building loads week in and week out. He lives with his wife Isabel and their two children, Andrew (16) and Ulises (11) in Placerville, CA.
