SEMA Show 2011 Notes by Gary Kank

Robert Mutzig, Operations Manager, and I had a chance to get down to Las Vegas a couple weeks back for the 2011 SEMA Show. In years past we have exhibited at this world renowned event, but this year we were down to take in the show as onlookers. The show drew more than 60,000 domestic and international buyers to the 4-day event. We saw the many interesting things on display that peaked our interest and got our wheels turning. One product in particular that we checked out was the Cap-Pack. This unique, elevated storage system is designed to work in conjunction with your camper shell. It provides easy access to your tools and equipment while still allowing use of most of your bed space.

We met with Jake Izydorek, President of Cap-Pack, and discussed the possibility of incorporating the idea on our 1000 Series Truck Racks. Jake was familiar with the Rack-it brand and was interested in exploring this retrofit concept with us. I'm not too sure where this will lead, but we love going down to SEMA for situations like these. Not only do you get to see tons of concepts, custom and new model vehicles, but you also get a chance to brainstorm with fellow manufacturers and get the creative juices flowing. We were also able to meet with many Rack-it dealers while walking the aisles of the show. Great to see so many of you down in Las Vegas.
